Raised Beds, Didcot Girls School, Oxfordshire
The Brief
Didcot Girls School asked us to replace raised beds that were falling apart in the school garden with something more durable along with more interesting planting.
The Solution
We removed the old raised beds completely and built 5 new circular raised beds off-site in our workshop. These were made out of French oak and banded together with metal bands to create the circle shape.
We then installed these on site at the school, bringing in extra compost to work in with the existing soil. Each bed was planted with a different theme, Kitchen Garden; Herb Garden; Lavender Garden; Evergreen Garden; and Bee Garden. The children and the teachers were thrilled with the outcome, and all really engaged in what we had planted and the corresponding themes.
